New API Wrappers
Last weekend was Photo Hack Day, and boy was it fantastic. Around 130 developers and designers got together, and 26 hacks were demoed less than 24 hours later. Among those, many impressive apps and hardware hacks! You can read a full recap on the EyeEm Blog, or browse through the list of hacks over on HackerLeague.
It was a great experience, and we can’t wait to organize another one in a few months!
An hour before the event was kicked off, we published the EyeEm API iOS SDK on Github. It’s still an infant, so go easy on it. Pull requests are more than welcome, so go ahead, fork and be plentiful!
It was also a very pleasant surprise to find out that @Varek (thanks!), taking part in his second photo hack day, had also written a ruby wrapper for our Api. So there you have it. One less language to worry about!
During Photo Hack Day, we also premiered some awesome experimental endpoints that were used to build the EyeEm City Explorer - we will be promoting those endpoints to the API proper, and will write and tell you all about them very soon.
Also stay tuned for some really neat libraries that we’ll be open sourcing soon, more API wrappers.
Until then, keep hacking!
